Joyless Behard, a paid shill for the Democrat party, actually said this on that sorry excuse for a show called "The View"...
"...all I can say is it's in the Constitution, the right to protest. And he wasn't even there protesting. He was there as a journalist. And I think they want to use him as some kind of a uh, you know, an example to intimidate other journalists. But you know, I was, I was reading something the other day about World War II, when when the uh Americans liberated Dachau after World War II during the hol... after the Holocaust, Dwight D. Eisenhower said, "Take pictures of the of these concentration camps because years will go by and people will not believe this happened." So, this administration does not really like somebody like Don Lemon who has a camera, who has a position like we do in a way to speak to the people and tell them what really is going on. Uh, so, uh, you know, God bless Dwight D. Eisenhower and Don Lemon. And I would just like to add that I think they've made him more popular than ever. He now will triple his his viewership on his podcast. Good for you."
Geez Louise! What a staggeringly stupid thing to say. I don't even know quite where to begin. She has actually equated Don Lemons invading a place of worship to the Allied Forces liberating a Nazi extermination camp following WWII. I can't actually believe she said that. I can't believe no one has called her out on her reckless and stupid rhetoric.
First of all, there is no "right to protest" in the constitution. Go ahead and look it up. There IS a right to "peaceably assemble" to "petition the government for a redress of grievances". That means to peacefully express your dissatisfaction with whatever you disagree. Some folks on the left these days interpret that to mean to "protest". Also protesting, to many people, includes rioting and engaging in civil unrest. To quote Don Lemons: [This is] traumatic and uncomfortable, but that's what protests are all about", or words to that effect. No. That is not what protests are all about Don Lemons. Protests are "all about" a "redress of grievances". What does that mean? "Redress" means to remedy or set right, while "grievances" are complaints or perceived injustices.
Here's how you know what they did was completely wrong.
Imagine for a moment what would happen if a so-called "independent journalist" from some White-Power news organization and some Neo-Nazi skinheads flash-mobbed a black church, berating them and screaming obscenities. How long do you think it would be before you had many people, including Don Lemons and Joyless Behard, denouncing it? Yet here they actually equate it with liberating a Nazi concentration camp. And ol' jughead idiot Whoopsie Goldburger was just nodding her head like a brainless zombie.
- Is That church part of the U.S. government? No.
- Does that church establish and enforce laws? No.
- Was the church killing people? No.
- Did the church have anything to do with what happened to Renee Good or Alex Pretti? No.
- Was the Minneapolis police involved in crowd control to help ICE do their job? No.
- So is The Mayor of Minneapolis at least partially to blame for what happened to them? Yes.
- Did Don Lemons go and flash mob the mayor's office for not assisting I.C.E.? No.
- Would Pretti and Good be alive today if local law enforcement did their job? Probably.
- Again, is the church part of totalitarian government hurting people? No.
- Was the church violating any laws? No.
- Was the church exercising their freedom of religion? Yes.
- Was the church "peaceably assembling"? Yes.
- Did Don Lemons and his gaggle of morons have any right to barge in there and disrupt it? No.
- Did Don Lemons break the law by doing what he did? Yes.
- Does any sane person disagree with that? No.
Why would you try to make a hero out of him? Simply because you hate Trump? Why do you hate Trump? If he was a Democrat, would you hate Trump? Why is there an irrational hatred for Trump?
Crazy times.
